The drum sound is the skeleton of many musical styles. For years, there has been a growing demand for authentic, punchy and "live" sounding drums. 

With a lot of effort we have created 57 new drum kits from pop to rock, from disco to jazz for the many musical genres of the Tyros 5. So that you can start right away, we have added already the appropriate registrations to the sound package. The expansion pack is primarily designed for use with the original styles and tuned, but individually editable.

The new drum kits are matched to each other with great sensitivity and, thanks to the simple replacement of each drum kit, they give you a completely new sound. Make a completely new keyboard from your Tyros 5 with the CMS Drums Vol.1. Powerful and assertive drum sounds with up to 8 dynamic levels per instrument bring along a new and much fresher sound and finally the right rich foundation for your sound. With this expansion, the often as too  well-behaved criticized Yamaha drum sound is finally history!

When using the Yamaha Genos and PSR-SX 900, please pay attention to the compatibility information on this page under the heading "limited compatibility".

Compatibility:

The Tyros 5 is fully compatible. All 57 drum kits can be used in its entirety in styles, midifiles and multipads. The drum kits correspond to the keyboard layout of various Yamaha original drum kits. The keyboard layout and compatibility list can be downloaded here as a .PDF document (Download .PDF).

The supplied registrations have been specially designed for the Tyros 5 and, in addition to the wide range of uses, also serve as an illustrative example for using the drum kits in the existing factory styles (revoicing).

Limited Compatibility:

Only the purely sample-based drum kits can be used on the Genos and the PSR-SX 900, since some of the drum kits are based on the waveforms of the Tyros 5, which are no longer or not present in the Genos and the PSR-SX 900. The incompatible drum kits are shown in the YEM as "greyed out content", which cannot be selected and loaded.

The compatible drum kits cannot be used for revoicing styles with "REVO! Drum kits", because Yamaha uses a fundamentally different keyboard layout (different from the layout of the Tyros 5) and programming. Unfortunately there is no conversion option here.

The drum kits can be used optimally if the original styles of the Tyros 5 are imported and revoiced in the Genos and the PSR-SX 900. All 33 compatible drum kits can be used with suitable styles, midifiles and multipads without restriction.

The included registrations are not compatible.
